Tauqeer Nasir is a senior Pakistani television and film actor who has worked in numerous hit shows including Yaad Piya Ki Aye, Thakan, Baal o Par, Kashkol, Sona Chandi, Landa Bazaar, Rahain, Reza Reza, Panah , Aik Haqeeqat Aik Afsansa, Samandar and Dehleez. Tauqeer Nasir has been awarded with Tamgha e Imtiaz and Sitara e Imtiaz by the government of Pakistan for his services in the field of art and culture. He also served in the government as Director General (DG) of Pakistan National Council of Arts. He is currently serving in the Pakistan sensor board.
Recently, RNN news celebrated Tauqeer Nasir’s birthday at his house where Naeem Hanif conducted his long interview. In the interview, he opened up about Ajay Devgan’s acting style which is inspired by him.
Talking about it, Tauqeer Nasir said, “I don’t know why he copies me; he has been doing it for years. I haven’t contacted him, nor has he contacted me. Many people told me that he has mentioned my name in the interviews, which is true. It is a big thing, because here people rarely acknowledge their inspirations. It is his greatness that he mentioned my name. For an actor to acknowledge their inspiration is a wonderful thing. I myself was deeply inspired by Waheed Murad Sahab.”
He further added, “After people told me that his acting is inspired by me, I watched a few of his movies, including Omkara. I did notice some resemblance in his work, especially in the way he uses his eyes to express emotions, just as I do. Eyes are the strongest tool in acting, as they create a powerful impact. Acting isn’t a joke.”
